Hacking and other forms of cyber terrorism is a fact of life today. Our highly automated and globally complex supply chains are also vulnerable. As proof, Maersk Shipping fell victim to cyber threats this past summer.  This presentation will provide attendees with an understanding and awareness of today's cybersecurity risk environment with an overview of the vulnerabilities, threats, and impacts of cybersecurity issues, particularly those facing the supply chain. The presenter will discuss the role of the NJCCIC, supply chain risk factors, examples of recent incidents impacting the supply chain, and an overview of best practices to mitigate and manage risk.

Ms. Krista Valenzuela is the Team Lead of the Cyber Threat Intelligence and Analysis Bureau at the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) of the NJ State Police. She graduated from the College of New Jersey with a degree in International Studies and previously worked for the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and the US Department of Defense before joining the NJCCIC in June 2015.
